3rd day in Taiwan

Rised at 5:00 in the morning. That is ok, I’m an early birdie walker. Our call time is 6:30, but I know we will be rewarded with beautiful views. The day will be a long ride and get to nap while in the car.

For about 2.5 hours by car we arrived at The Flower Farm in Taichung. Taichung is the 3rd largest city in Taiwan.

If you are a lover of nature, plants and flowers. This is for you.

Of course, we headed to Sun Moon Lake. Located in central Taiwan, Sun Moon Lake is one of the only natural lakes in the country. It’s also the largest and arguably the most beautiful. Lalu Island divides the lake in two, with one part resembling a moon and the other a sun, hence its name.

Our driver/guide didn’t stop the day only with Sun Moon Lake cruise but bring us to the temple. It is freaking rainy the minute we left the harbour but it gets harder when we arrived there.

The Wenwu Temple is located at the shoulder of mountain, north of Sun Moon Lake.

Save the best for last! Taichung’s famous Rainbow Village, housed some veterans and their families. It was already being torn down house by house. One of the last village residents is Mr Huang. One day he started to paint the empty and dying village as sign of protest not to demolished the given properties. Thanks to those artisty hands! The village was untouched and awarded to them. But few houses was left and roofs where retouched to give credit as it was one of the tourist destination in the city.
